Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities: The job’s essential or most important functions listed in order of time spent

  1. Ensure quality standards are being met.  Ensure that all defects or deficiencies are identified in receiving process, including notations on receiving documents.

  1. Follow all internal standardized work instructions, or instructions established for client specific requirements. 

  1. Certified for forklift and order picker operation.

  1. Maintain compliance with all safety regulations
  1. Familiarity with quality standards and inspection techniques.
  1. Proficient with the use of handheld scanners or PC for the purpose of maintaining and updating inventories.
  1. Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills
  1. Loads (lift, maneuver) and moves (push, pull) product through warehouse, as well as into and out of trailers and or trucks.

  1. Demonstrate problem solving skills
  1. Assists department lead and or supervisor in the training of new employees.

  1. Maintains a clean and safe work area by sweeping, dusting, and removing (picking up) waste material. Maintain compliance with all safety regulations

  1. Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines

  1. Maintain a proactive and positive environment amidst tough circumstances

  1. Develop a culture of ownership and accountability

  1. Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail

  1. Assembles product to client specifications as needed.

For Asset Team Warehouse Specialist, include the following:

17.  Physically sorts and counts products by like item to ensure accurate inventory.

18.  Fluent with Snap Tracker Asset Management software.  Also required to be familiar with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

19.   Experience using both web based and catalog resources to identify all required specifics for client assets.

20.   Experience and knowledge of multiple office furniture systems: assembly, terminology and functionality.  Heavy emphasis on all Steelcase product lines.

21.  Create, edit and maintain detailed client asset inventory reports.  These reports include details such as dimensional characteristics, unique item conditions,    vendor codes and call outs.

Job Requirements


Education and/or experience required.

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1+ years previous experience in warehouse and/or inventory control operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Strong organization and communication skills; strong attention to detail; knowledge of PC based skills helpful; ability to operate forklift and other power equipment; familiarity with operating non-power equipment (pallet jacks, carts, hand trucks) within the warehouse.

Physical Requirements: Physical and mental requirements of the position

Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds consistently; simple reading and writing; ability to work mathematical statistics, both calculations and reports; judgment/decision making and analysis/comprehension ability.   

Work Environment: Exposure to environmental conditions and the amount of noise

Regularly works with others over the phone or face to face. Generally works in a warehouse environment with moderate noise, and changing temperature conditions.
