Job Description








 Maintenance Tech



Tasks and Responsibilities



This position is responsible for the timely and cost effective maintenance and operation of existing or planned process equipment, facilities equipment, facilities and associated systems that are consistent with regulatory guidelines, company policy and safety requirements. Maintain current facilities through personal work and contractors including, but not limited to the following areas: HVAC equipment including but not limited to air handlers, cooling towers, chillers and boilers; emergency generators; clean room systems including HEPA Filters and room pressurization; exhaust systems; piping systems and air compressors.



Duties and Responsibilities



Execute and/or ensure Preventative Maintenance (PMs) and work orders are completed per schedule as assigned by Facilities Management.


This position will require maintaining of the following systems:



• Air Conditioning or refrigeration system components including compressors, coils, valves and regulators.



• Chilled water systems including chillers, pumps and cooling towers;



• Ventilating equipment including air handling units, exhaust fans, and cooling or heating coils;



• Process equipment including vacuum and compressed air systems



• General building maintenance work with a basic knowledge of plumbing, painting and general carpentry.



Perform additional maintenance related tasks as required for maintaining and operating support systems necessary for the operation of a medical device manufacturing facility including but not limited to:




• Office Furniture installations, reconfigurations, and removal



• Emergency Response Team Member



• Painting and wall repairs



• Picture and display hanging



• Grounds and Building upkeep



• Equipment and Production Area moves including de-installation and re-installation of equipment utilities



• Coordinate and oversee vendor and contractor activities as assigned by Facilities Management



• Follow all regulatory, company, and safety policies while executing facilities activities and quality service levels for equipment and facilities



• Perform special duties as assigned by Facilities Management



• On-call rotation for after hours, weekends and holidays



• Overtime, holiday and weekend work as required



Specialized Knowledge and Skills




• Strong mechanical aptitudes



• Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills with ability to define problems, and resolve them quickly



• Ability to work well with ever-changing priorities and situations



• Must be a self starter who can work well and communicates with people at all levels both in and out of the organization



• Excellent written and verbal communication required



• Strong math and reading skills



• Ability to read blue prints and understand motor schematics



• Ability to write reports, create graphs using Microsoft Software







Experience




• Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience preferably in a GMP/FDA related environment.



Education and Training



• High School Diploma or GED



• Technical certification in HVAC or Electrical a strong plus



Physical Environment/working conditions- e.g. assembly line, lifting requirements (up to 50 lbs)




• Regular use of hands and fingers, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and talk or hear; walk or sit. Regularly required to use written and oral communications skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; deal with changing, intensive deadlines; and interact with managers, staff, contractors, vendors and others encountered in the course of work. The employee works inside and outside. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, including wet and or hot conditions.
