Job Description

We are looking for a Computer Repair Tech to join our growing team!  We need someone who can test, troubleshoot and repair computers and sub-assemblies!  You may also have the opportunity to work on other electronic, electro-mechanical and/or mechanical devices down to a component level

Can you:

  • Apply acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks?
  • Work on assignments that are moderately difficulty, requiring judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations?
  • Use systems and test fixtures to determine PCBA and assembly function?
  • Repair/Refurbish computers?
  • Read and interpret work instructions, drawings and Engineering Change Orders?
  • Use standard measurement and test equipment, such as digital voltmeters, power supplies and sources?
  • Enter repair findings into information data collections systems?
  • Complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing?
  • Participate in the continuous Improvement Quality Process (Lean Mfg., Six Sigma, ISO 13485)?
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing?
  • Accomplish associated tasks within the organization
  • Train other Repair Techs as needed?

Job Requirements

What do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Associates in Applied Science in Electronic or Computer Engineering - or Military/Technical school equivalent - or 2-4 years of related experience
  • Dell Certified Repair a BIG plus - but not required
  • Physically able to work with heavy equipment (sometimes in excess of 50 lbs.)
  • Able to use data collection software to input and analyze information gathered during repairs
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Have substantial understanding of the job and apply that knowledge and skill in a wide range of tasks
  • Can work with minimal instruction on daily tasks and requires on general instructions on newly introduced assignments
  • Able to successfully read and interpret work instructions, drawings and Engineering Change Orders
  • Able to use necessary equipment to perform rework on defective components
