Job Description

Job Summary:



  • Verifies inventory and schedules transportation of sales orders



  • Schedules transportation of all shipments (outgoing and incoming freight); updates weekly schedule



  • Analyzes freight information to ensure the best price and service.



  • Verifies freight rates and makes decisions as to the most economical way to ship orders.



  • Confirms orders/loads with trucking companies



  • Responsible for ensuring the timeliness of pickups or deliveries; make necessary arranges to avoid extra charges.



  • Reviews open purchase order report to ensure all deliveries have been scheduled. Vendors will be contacted if a delivery has not been scheduled.



  • Responsible for following up with vendors on missed deliveries.



  • Keeps accurate records of all shipments and enters them in the system.



  • Verifies PO/invoices and turns them into Accounts Payable for processing



  • Confirms delivery dates



  • Follows up on late shipments, damages and incidents



  • Verifies trucks are loaded/unloaded on time to avoid detention charges



  • Assist customers with order and questions as needed



Job Requirements

  • Education and Certification Requirements:


    • High diploma, equivalent or higher



    • 3 years combined knowledge of logistics and customer service and/or warehouse clerk





  • Language Requirement:


    • Ability to understand written and oral direction in English and/or Spanish.







  • Computer¬† Skills





  • Intermediate Excel, Syspro, Accounting Software
