Job Description

Buyer/Purchasing Agent needed for an excellent, established company in Fort Mill, SC.  Full benefits from first paycheck- health, vision, dental, 401(k), life insurance, and longevity bonus available!
This position is temp to hire.  Pay range is $20-$24/hr, depending on experience, education, and other factors.



Working independently, coordinates purchasing activities and processes purchase reqs in a timely manner.  Using MRP and/or manual reqs, analyzes demand to determine need, sends out RFQ's for price and availability.  Verifies price and delivery dates within established contracts but rarely negotiates.  May be involved in administering EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) program. 



  • Expedites as necessary to meet production requirements. 

  •         Works with incoming inspection and receiving to resolve discrepancies.

  •        Monitors supplier delivery. 

  •         May research new supply sources but typically is working with a limited AVL list (e.g., OEM provided suppliers).

  •        Purchases materials, using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels. 

  •        Obtains materials, components and equipment. 

  •        Evaluates vendor reliability, develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate. 

  •        Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

  •         Normally receives general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.

  •         Has the authority to make responsible decisions comparable to scope of position.

  •         Works with Account Management and Supply Chain Management for agreement of order quantities and rules, buffer inventories, etc.

  •        Oracle and Agile experience required.  SAP experience highly desired.

  •         Ability to identify, define and make recommendations for quality control issues

Job Requirements

JOB LEVEL:  willing to learn to use professional concepts.  Applies company policies a and procedures to resolve routine issues.  Multi-tasking a must. 


JOB COMPLEXITY:  Works on problems of limited scope.  Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained contact with suppliers and /or customers. High language skills. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to read and analyze complex information


SUPERVISION:  Normally receives instructions on work.  Must be a self-starter.


EXPERIENCE:  requires 1-3 years in a high mix build to order environment
