Job Title: AOI ( Automated Optical Inspection) Operator

Shift: Mon-Fri 2:30pm to 11pm  2nd shift.

Nature of work:

Job Purpose: With general supervision, the AOI/X-Ray Operator carries out the broadest variety, or most complex tasks in a highly structured, repetitive environment. A key part of this role is to demonstrate the most complex production tasks in a consistent manner, to produce and/or test a high volume of quality product in the shortest possible time, and/or to maintain aggressive production schedules. Alternatively, this role may be extremely flexible to work on most or all products and processes within the manufacturing operation, dependent upon the need within the production schedule.

Nature of Duties:

• Sets up and operates AOI/X-Ray equipment with the responsibility of manufacturing high quality product according to specific drawings, procedures and process documentation, while maximizing line productivity
• Pays attention to process controls and process inputs as required to monitor product quality, including Statistical Process Control, process improvements and line optimization as they relate to the machine process

•         Identifies defects and/or reworks boards

• Conducts product inspection according to specific procedures
• Uses PC-based software tools for setups, maintains component and machine specific databases as new devices and shape codes are introduced
• Loads and unloads feeders
• Loads carriages
• Manages inventory
• Performs cycle counts

•         Maintains logs and internal documentation and performs routine housekeeping chores

• Reduces continuous false error rate based on predefined KPIs
• Finds and applies efficiency-enhancing methods

May assist in Mechanical Assembly, Packaging and other areas if required
