Job Description

The Accounting Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates the activities of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable support personnel.  Responsible for performing accounting tasks and duties in supporting the areas of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, budgeting, forecasting, corporate reporting, and other areas as necessary.  This position has substantial discretion, autonomy and independence in the execution of his/her duties, decisions and/or responsibilities.

  • Supervise the work of Accounting Clerks to ensure adherence to AP/AR standards, processes, deadlines, and proper procedures, correcting errors or problems.

  • Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems or in resolving issues.

  • Issue invoices for progress milestones and for spare parts and prepare supporting documents for invoices.

  • Issue invoices for field service and prepare supporting documents.

  • Maintain up-to-date progress billing status and amount of each project and keep track of change orders that affect the total contract amount.

  • Correspond with banks, KSU Treasurer, Sales Department, and customers to issue standby letters of credit and prepare required documents for the issuance.

  • Maintain General Ledger

  • Prepare balance sheets, income statements, conduct various reconciliations.

Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years minimum experience at a senior or progressive supervisory position

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent of combined education and experience

  • Articulate in communication and tact in dealing with people of all levels

  • Experience in Epicor ERP system or similar Accounting program is required

  • Computer skills, Microsoft Office, schedule management and organization skills
